Spotlighting The Gift Of Second Chances, Hope And Family This Festive Season

Just as stars illuminate the sky in its darkest hours, our families are the constant lights that guide us through life’s toughest moments—the strength that lifts us higher, and the love that never lets us fall.

This holiday season, we would like to present ‘Star Light, Star Bright’, a festive initiative that spotlights the gift of second chances, hope, and family.

Together with like-minded partners, Yellow Ribbon Project, Yellow Ribbon Bakery, The Salvation Army, Children and Youth Group – Kids In Play, Families for Life, and Science Centre Singapore, we hope to invite you to support the reintegration of incarcerated inmates, not just with society, but their loved ones as well.

In collaboration with Our Grandfather Story (OGS), we have created a video that uncovers the moving story of inmates who wish that one day their infinite love for their children, like stars, will guide them back to each other.

Join Our Constellation of Hope

As part of the initiative, we invited incarcerated mothers and their children to come together and create a series of inspirational ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ paintings — each piece carries heartfelt stories on what family truly means to them.

We hope you can take a moment to vote for your favourite paintings at www.starlightstarbright.sg as a pledge of your support for them and other incarcerated parents to rebuild their family connections. You can even stand a chance to be 1 of 5 lucky voters to win $100 eCapitaVoucher, a set of limited-edition ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ greeting cards, and a Yellow Ribbon Bakery Wishing Star Cookie Bundle.

With your pledges, Geneco will be donating $10,000 to Yellow Ribbon Fund, to support their effort in development and implementation of rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for inmates, ex-offenders and their families. 

You can also contribute to these programmes by adopting artworks crafted by other inmate-artists, each reflecting their own passage towards reconciliation with their families.

A Stellar Gift that Gives Back

Celebrate this season of giving with festive bakes specially handcrafted by inmates from Yellow Ribbon Bakery, where incarcerated individuals create with care—building skills and confidence as they prepare for their reintegration journey. 

These exclusive cookie bundles come in limited-edition packaging featuring the ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ paintings.

A portion of every purchase goes to community programmes for ex-offenders and their families, supporting those starting anew in rebuilding their lives and reconnecting with their loved ones.

The cookies will be available for purchase from the third week of November onwards. 

Lighting the Way Forward with Our Roving Art Gallery

Step aboard our first-ever roving art gallery, where you can have an up-close appreciation for the ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ paintings and their meaningful concepts, alongside other artworks created by inmate-artists. 

The art gallery will be roving across the nation, starting at Hillion Mall from 1 to 7 December, moving to PLQ Plaza from 8 to 14 December, and concluding at 270 Orchard Road from 15 to 21 December. It will be open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM.

As you explore, you will have the opportunity to adopt the artworks created by inmate-artists, and also purchase the Yellow Ribbon Bakery festive cookies that come in ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ packaging.

Plus, don’t  miss out on the special weekend giveaways happening on 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21 December, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The first 50 visitors to pledge their support for the initiative at the roving art gallery will receive a set of limited-edition ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ greeting cards, and an exclusive Geneco Green Starter Kit, which includes a Geneco tote bag, collapsible lunch box, stainless steel water bottle, and reusable straw.
