Year In Review 2025 with Geneco

2025 has been a year defined by action and shared impact, with our communities at the heart of everything we do.

From promoting sustainability, to raising awareness of mental wellness, to empowering less privileged communities, each initiative reflects our commitment to driving positive change across social and sustainability fronts.

With the invaluable support of our partners, the beneficiaries who inspire us, and every customer, we continue to illuminate homes and hearts across our city, serving over 170,000 households while reinforcing our position as Singapore’s No. 1 Residential Electricity Retailer.

As we close another remarkable chapter, let us celebrate how far we have come and look forward to the brighter, more sustainable future we will create together.

Rooting New Beginnings with #ForestOfProsperity

Chinese New Year is a season of reunion, gratitude, and sharing. The perfect moment to spotlight the greatest prosperity of all – family.

Like trees that stand strong over time, so do families. This year, #ForestOfProsperity, our Chinese New Year campaign, highlighted these lasting bonds while inspiring the next generation to sow the seeds of a sustainable future.

Together with Families for Life and and a registered charity, and IPC, National Parks Board’s registered charity and IPC, Garden City Fund, we invited families to commemorate the birth of their child through our #ForestOfProsperity Tree Planting Event, contributing to Singapore’s #OneMillionTrees movement.

Through this collective effort, over 50 saplings were planted, supported by over 62,300 pledges that strengthened appreciation for our nation’s green heritage. We also contributed $15,000 to NParks’ Plant-A-Tree Programme, distributed 100 Green Starter Kits, and gifted 888 limited-edition Geneco Red Packets to mark the season.

We are proud to have partnered once again with NParks’ Garden City Fund to highlight Singapore’s heritage trees through beautifully designed red packets. These designs celebrate family growth, continuity, and the strength of shared roots. Printed on 100% recycled paper, each packet also shared fascinating insights about the ecological and historical significance of these trees, inspiring everyone to cherish and protect our urban greenery.

Thanks to strong public support, our Used Red Packet Recycling initiative returned for the fifth consecutive year, inviting everyone to play a part in our sustainable future simply by recycling their used and excess red packets.

Alongside returning partners such as CapitaLand malls, IUIGA, PAP Action for Green Towns, REFASH, SG Recycle, and Wisma Atria, we were delighted to welcome new partners Frasers Property, Gardens by the Bay, HarbourFront Centre, and ION Orchard this year.

Through the combined efforts of 194 recycling partners across the island, we successfully collected 5,290 kg of used red packets, which were sent to SG Recycle to be repurposed, giving them a second life.

Celebrating Seven Years of Progress with #Se7enbration

Marking our seventh anniversary, we reflected on our journey and renewed our commitment to create lifelong, sustainable impact.

In line with our annual Plant-A-Tree event, we planted another 50 trees as part of Singapore’s #OneMillionTrees movement, completing the final stage of our original 250-tree pledge from 2021. With a total of 450 trees now rooted across Singapore, surpassing our original goal, we are thrilled to embark on the next milestone with a renewed pledge to plant another 250 trees over the coming five years.

Complementing these efforts, we also contributed $15,000 to the Garden City Fund, supporting Singapore’s green spaces and inspiring meaningful action toward a greener city.

We further celebrated with special promotions and giveaways, including the first seven months free for Power Eco Add-on—Singapore’s first and only green add-on for an electricity plan. This offer is available to both new and existing customers who opt in or upgrade their electricity plan, affirming our commitment to #PowerTheChange.

Embark on a Self-Discovery Journey with ‘Lost To Be Found’

To commemorate National Day and Singapore’s 60th birthday, we put the mental wellness of Singaporeans on the right track with our ‘Lost To Be Found’ campaign. Together with Chen Xi, local artist and actor, we spotlighted a journey’s purpose rather than a destination through his artistic interpretation of six inspiring spaces of solace, capturing our city’s tranquil spaces and paving the way for those on their paths of self-discovery. We also produced 1,000 limited-edition ‘Lost To Be Found’ journals featuring these illustrations for recipients to pen down and journal their thoughts, given away to the public.

Partnering with Beyond the Label, a nationwide movement co-led by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and TOUCH Community Services, as well as Mindfull Community, we invited the public to support the initiative by voting for their favourite illustrations, with each vote counted as a pledge to further the efforts of our partners in promoting mental wellness across the nation.

Extending the experience beyond the digital space, we held an immersive gallery at grovve in *SCAPE, where participants could explore Chen Xi’s illustrations, add their own colours, and reflect on their personal journeys. These creative spaces became places of quiet connection where art, self-expression, and mindfulness converged to spark conversations about well-being. The illustrations were also displayed at Gardens by the Bay and Bugis Junction to further reach out to the public.

We are very heartened that the initiative’s message resonated deeply, reaching 394,770 votes, inspiring conversations on mental wellness nationwide, and culminating in a $20,000 donation to Beyond the Label and Mindfull Community.

Illuminating Hope with ‘Star Light, Star Bright’

This festive season, we invite everyone to be part of our constellation — to fill the sky with a billion brilliant stars and light the way for those journeying through their darkest nights with our  ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ initiative.

In collaboration with like-minded partners, Yellow Ribbon Project, Yellow Ribbon Bakery, The Salvation Army, Children and Youth Group – Kids In Play, Families for Life, and Science Centre Singapore, we sought to shine a light on the reintegration of incarcerated mothers and their children, helping them rebuild not just with society, but with their loved ones too.

As part of the initiative, incarcerated mothers and their children came together to create a series of heartfelt ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ paintings, each one capturing the true essence of family,  love, resilience, and the hope of new beginnings.

We encouraged everyone to do good this season by voting for your favourite paintings or gifting festive bakes handcrafted by inmates from Yellow Ribbon Bakery. Each action became a pledge of support, helping those starting anew to rebuild their lives and reconnect with their loved ones.

For the first time, we brought the art to life with a roving gallery at Hillion Mall, PLQ Plaza, and Orchard Road, where you can have an up-close appreciation for the ‘Star Light, Star Bright’ paintings and their meaningful concepts, alongside other artworks created by inmate-artists.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we received over 450,000 votes and contributed $10,000 to the Yellow Ribbon Fund to further their mission of preventing intergenerational incarceration. Additionally, 300 Geneco Green Starter Kits were given to early participants as a token of appreciation.

Powering Forward as One

Closing the year, we are reminded that every action, no matter how small, contributes to something far greater when done together. Our deepest thanks go out to our partners, communities, and families who made 2025 a year of meaningful progress and shared purpose.

As we step into 2026, let us continue to #PowerTheChange and create a brighter world for good, but, most of all, a better home for all.
